Residence Inn by Marriott Worcester

If I were Marriott, I would be embarrassed to have my name on this hotel. Such a disappointment staying here. The rooms and property are not well maintained and it appears that management doesn't care. Bad reviews have been pouring in for a couple of years and nothing has changed and this review won't matter either. The room was dirty at check in and after cleaning out the cupboards and refrigerator (globs of grimy dust on top of the fridge and the fridge seal had slimy mold in the folds, also the microwave vents were clogged with dust balls), I left the room cleaner when I left. The breakfast is not very good and again, not too much effort is put into this place. The staff is wonderful and helpful but purposely bliss about the conditions here. The AC system is poor, cleanliness is poor. If you pay over $125 a night you are paying too much.

I expected better for a Marriott. The room is a nice size, but the couch was a bit worn and bathroom not clean. The vent in the bathroom was absolutely filthy with dust. Our room was unusually warm so we turned the AC on to make it a touch cooler. Woke up with a stuffy nose, sore throat and pounding headache!!! I bet the air ducts and filters are never cleaned and allergens and dust are circulating. I paid the govt rate of $130/night, regular rate was $165. Totally not worth it. Shower was also just briefly wiped down, not actually cleaned. Can see mold and water spots on the ceiling. Trash cans outside the building had multiple bags around them and the hallways smelled like old food. UPDATE 12/15/23: Upon checkout, I spoke to the Asst Manager. I showed them the photos of the room and said I was disappointed. They listened to me without interruption or excuses, apologized for the room condition and agreed that that was not acceptable. I emailed the photos of my room, the manager apologized again and refunded me a portion of my stay and also gave me Marriott points. I appreciate that management cared, listened, and offered a way to reconcile without me asking or having to hassle. Hopefully when Marriott does renovations, this hotel will be better.

This is a very old, tired, dirty, smelly hotel- I was shocked to find a Marriott in this condition. Broken AC, black mold all over shower, stained rugs and furniture, terrible mildew smell- we had booked 4 nights and while the front desk staff was absolutely lovely and responsive and offered us different rooms, it was so disgusting we couldn't wait to check out and go elsewhere. And you are also charged $7 per day to park in their wide open parking lot! I wish I had dug deeper in the Review section, but I usually choose the Marriott brand so I assumed it would be fine. Uggggggg
